on the topic of creativity and people vs advertisers from the "about me" portion above, Creativity and websites and online spaces created for its people or purpose instead of advertisers is a feature of the internet I greatly value. Advertisement is a looming force everywhere and has always been online. I won't deny that or claim the older web (Even more recently, like pre 2016-2019) wasn't filled with advertisements. Malware and pop-ups plagued websites along with fake download buttons and whenever you played Neopets there would be an ad tie in of like a Pepsi Event going on in the square to encourage it's playerbase to buy Pepsi. They wanted your money before just as they do now. The internet was initally created for the military and not for regular human connection. But as time has progressed, It has only become more and more intense, looming. Where its purpose is only to sell and appeal to the widest group of buyers while excluding everyone who loved it for it was before to suck up to an imaginary audience as all social media is succumbing to an impossible goal of infinite growth, changing itself to achieve that growth then truly they're just making it worse.

Whenever I was younger on the web, I loved Deviantart. I loved online web worlds like Animal Jam and Neopets. and I still do. But as the years have progressed, these worlds I once l once loved became... Nothing. Not in the sense that I hate them (I still do) or that they are gone, but what made them what they were had become barren. This is not to say these websites were never in for your money, lol. I would literally just be lying. Online pet and social worlds for kids are notorious for their innane memberships made to make children beg their parents for subscriptions. But has time has progressed, it has only become more visible how money hungery they were. With the implementation of Eclipse on Deviantart in 2019, the website completely overhauled it's classic green, very forum-y look in place of a new layout called Eclipse. A sleek dark-mode design with smoothed edges with the implementation of "Core" (A way to pay to get more features) as well as a removal of core customization features unless you spend money On The Literal Creatives of All Types Websites which now only really remain in Deviantart groups. Deviantart did have paid features before (Deviantart points, a site currency bought for real money artists would exchange for adoptables or art) but the spirit of the site's freeness seemed to had dwindled in a singular motion. deviantart has like forever had people getting pissed as hell over any update lulul but this time it was in bigger droves than ever. An understandable community outrage that ended with... No change at all. Just a progression in core, a progression in features such as AI, and a loss of the community and audience it once had.

I won't say Deviantart is completely dead -- and websites do have a "drop" at some point due to progressions in social media, but when the drop happened it was huge. The only communities that really stayed strong were ones that existed before Eclipse specifically to interact with that community (such as closed species, rp, and adoptable or commission groups) but many of those have now moved to closed off sites like Discord or started their own personal websites. Less and less people left comments or liked, and though you could see the view count, it seemed like no one actually... left anything to say about the work posted anymore. It became less community based. AI scraping features were implemented. More and more people drop off like flies. The site is left appealing to buyers and partners instead of listening to who brought them to the position they are today in hopes of making money and being modern and professional until the pool of people or people who agree with them get smaller and smaller. Back to online kid's worlds, there was a period of time where kid's online worlds had a massive BOOM in popularity due to Neopets' success and the commonality of computers being avalible in many homes across the world, and them not being as difficult to make as other types of social games. with time, kids growing up, and the death of flash, it caused like, this market to crash substanially. The only ones remaining seem to have only paid content instead of content (such as "updates" of recolors or membership options) or have shifted their focus to NFTs and failed miserably. I'm extremely autistic about online worlds for kids so i went on a bit of a tangent i'm leading up to shit BUT -- This end of online areas for kids and teenagers... left a horrible gap in what children and teenagers could use as online spaces specifically for them that weren't geared towards children way out of their age range.

Other social media, geared typically for young adults or older smooth down their edges to make room for the abundant of children and teenagers and force every space into a space for "all ages" but this is a lie. The spaces nonexistent for just teenagers and/or children is not a fault of their own- They will not be made unless it generates large amounts of money. They do not remove pornographic content from websites that previously allowed it or censor words to keep minors safe (it just makes it less safe cuz people will post it without warning because there is none anymore lmfao). They do not make their websites "clean" and "modern" decorated in the same artwork and style every website uses because users will like it. They do not submit to algorithoms and short video feed to help users. They do not lessen privacy to appeal to or help users. They do it to appeal to the broadest audience - an innoffensive, sameish mass of nothingcode made to draw in advertisers. They are just like everyone else. They are like Twitter.

They are like Tiktok. They ignore that people don't want a new version of these apps if they already have them. They want investment. They want advertisers. They want to embed spaces for advertisements into the code (Fandom Wikia) while removing most of the creativity features it once had despite it being a place for creativity. They want you to buy and stay on, even if they are appealing to no one. Even if their audience only stays because everywhere else is a sinking ship. It is torture. I don't want to live in a world like this. Everything is a subscription, even to social medias. I don't own anything. I don't even own my own data. In page 45,875 of the user agreement, rule 100,431, it states the company is allowed to pull every last bit of your data and sell it to everyone. It happens even when you delete the app. I hate whenever I talk in-person I get ads for it on my Google homepage. I hate looking back on sites I used to love and they all look the same, with those same, near-generated perfect images or artwork of people. I hate copyright and I hate AI generated results that bring up nothing answers and get people hurt. I hate how hostility is encouraged. I hate how the user is ignored. I hate how minors and adults can not have spaces of their own, forcing every area into a jointed mess unsafe for us all. I hate how websites will add useless features to make less privacy or add more bloat before banning bigots from their sites. Every website is dying and everyone grows less and less friendly. It is jumping from hot coal to hot coal on bare, bruised feet trying to find a site that won't sink.

I hate the goal of impossible, endless growth, forfeiting what even made the site itself out of desperation to sell, even if it sits on millions. I want freedom. I want to be able to express myself online. I want to be safe online. I want to have fun online. I want people of all demographics to be safe online. I am drowning in corporate greed. I am drowning in infinite content made with the sole purpose of gaining more of what doesn't matter.

I want to be free. As the maker of my own website, I do not have to feel pressure to constantly put out more content or have any sort of advertisement or tracking on my website. I am the one who makes every update, I am the one who allows who is allowed in my World, I will not submit to the temptation of impermanent growth or branding, I am the one who decides what will and will not happen, I am the bastion of my own creativity. I want a place that belongs to me and won't have to worry about horrible updates ruining my livelehood. I am happy this way. learn how to code, watch others code, have a friend make you a website, use tutuorials and use templates... EXPRESS YOURSELF. I can only hope, as time goes on, it only gets better for us. I want to make a better internet together. Thank you for reading.

I am a staunch believer in prison abolition. Prisons should not exist and only exist as a system to exploit the vulnerable and create a class of slave laborers and police are state funded murderers. You should listen to the racial minoirites in your community. You are not immune to the racism ingrained in you. We live in a racist society. that capitalism and colonialism are the root of all evil. Land back to every native. Capitalism will be destroyed under itself. Bodily autonomy should be full, free and expansive as possible to the most extreme extent and that people should also not be forced to get procedures or change themselves physically or repress their need to change in order to satisfy society (even in ways you personally despise), that all things people will die without (medication, mobility aids, housing etc) should be free and homeless people deserve to be treated as human. Children should have rights, abolish the family. I am a race / sex / gender nihilist - these things are not immutable. They do not exist and are socially enforced categories/ exist in order to benefit what has been made the 'upper' class and exploit the 'lower' class.

I am very anti-psych. Psychiatry is a system of abuse and control. Disabled people should be treated as people, and i could care less if someone thinks their disorder or method of coping is wrong or fake. I believe in harm reduction. If you find drug addicts and self harmers morally reprehensible, we will not get along. I could care less what people do in the privacy of their own home if they both(/all) consent. Uncouple disgust from morality in your mind. This is reactionary. Harm and abuse are material. They are not thoughts and ideals or personal disagreement- but patterns of tangible abuse and harm. Support those you do not understand. If you're the type that seeks out 'good' or 'agreeable' transfeminine people to stick around as a TME person, you are a transmisogynist. Being a fellow minority does not exempt you from being bigoted yourself. this exists in all of us. Privilege is less of a gain of opportunities are moreso less obstacles and less percieved/ontological evil. I need a free and liberated Palestine in my lifetime. Engage with others in good faith and with kindness. Actually put in the effort to uplift people who are being hurt. Our world rewards people who continue the pattern of abuse and isolation.
